Late-afternoon visit and the little front bar is busy to the point that it was difficult to get to the bar counter and I ended up stood rather awkwardly in the doorway. I didn’t hang around for long.

Very busy Saturday evening. The pub appeared to be a meeting place for people about to catch the Real Ale Train. I did not make a note of all the beers on offer.

A group of us met here for a Friday evening visit, trains all ran on time despite the snow. The pub soon became very busy with a good crowd of welcoming locals.

A popular and friendly pub in Anstey Road, close to National Rail and Watercress Line railway stations. Amazing sculpture of an LSWR M7 class steam locomotive adorns the exterior of the pub, whilst Watney memorabilia forms part of the interior decorations.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 15 different beers and tried 8 of them.
