I was due to meet Ian in Broadstairs but had 35 minutes before the train left and I didn't fancy standing around on a cold platform. The Heron was done up a treat for Christmas and was warm.

Evening bus change to rail visit. Amazingly thriving with poker night and darts all mingled in the public bar.

Had 20 mins to kill until my train to Ramsgate and I'd past this pub loads of times before with never the opportunity to visit. There was a saloon bar which had a raised level for dining and a public bar with a pool table. The landlord was friendly.

Comparatively modern pub almost next door to Herne Bay railway station in Station Road. Popular with very local trade and always pool and darts orientated. Pretty much concentrates on Master Brew Bitter and occasionally another Shep's brew on sale.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
