Another quiet pub, this one was not my original itinerary but as a nearby pub was unexpectedly closed I found time to pop in. I had a good chat with one of the locals and the girl behind the bar.

13:00 visit and another one year gap since the last. Very quiet here with just a couple of friendly locals in, but the nearby Harbour area soon got busy when the live music started. A later wander saw the surreal sight of seeing so many people "of a certain age" dressed as skinheads and mods for the Skabour Festival? Nice day out.

15:00 visit. My final call today and the end of my little "jolly" to the Folkestone area. This is my favourite seaside destination in Kent, having, in recent years, "bashed" a good few Steam & Diesel specials down the famous Folkestone Harbour branch line to the nearby long gone Harbour Station. All of this is now history and sadly neglected and just waiting for the axeman to finally cometh and sever this once busy branch line once and for all, forever. The whole area towards the sea is crying out for investment, but when, or even if, this will ever happen, is up for debate. Sadly all gone, but the memories are not forgotten....And the pub? Today was quite busy and I found two new ales and had a decent Ploughmans Lunch, made all the more interesting by the additional selection of some nice French cheese, freshly bought from over the water. Nice touch.

Hop Fuzz - The English4.00ExceptionalAnother new ale today, and, excellant it was too. Under 5% but a genuine 5* ale. Two pints devoured before heading homeward bound....
Greene King - IPA Gold4.10ExcellentAnother new ale this weekend! Got to admit it, and incredibly rare it is too, but praise for GK? There was a distinct taste of hops in this here ale! Are GK taking note! We can only hope so. Very good indeed.

Early evening with a few locals at the bar. I sat in a corner and listened to talk about airport taxes.
