Lots of middle class families eating.
Too much rigmarole for two halves I feel. About 25 minutes in here of which 15 involved being seated, ordering and waiting to have our beers delivered.
Had a Passcendale 5.2% and a Steenbrugge Wit - both ok - but, sorry love, you're not my type.

Came in for a suit and ended up drinking a bottle of crazy Belgium Porter. Not sure what happened there. That Ian and his crazy Belgium tendencies.

Great if you are a Belgophile like me. Service can still be a bit idiosyncratic but to have this Belgian line up in Canterbury is great. Now with two handpull beer engines. I had Cristal lager as a refresher then a Chimay Blanche both on tap. Lovely.

About The Drapers Arms also known as Deakin's Pub & Kitchen (formerly La Trappiste)
On the site of the old Deakin's menswear store in Sun Street near the Butter Market. Light airy take on a Belgian bar with 12 taps, a solid bottled beer list, a bakery and two handpulled Britiah beers. Upstairs room too and free wifi. Some PCs in the corner of ground floor for surfers. Closed October 2017. Reopened as The Drapers Arms with no real ale at April 2019.
We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 1 beer and tried 0 of them.
