The fact that this is in the Good Beer Guide surprised me. It seemed to me to be a typical large student drinking hall with only a couple of beers on. True the Bass was in good condition, but there is a raft of better pubs in the area.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Bass4.40GoodCopper coloured with lasting white head. Still a very good session beer. Enough flavour to keep you coming back for more, without being overwhelming. Good minerality. Some caramel, some hop, some yeast. Always found it hard to pin down Bass. Bit of sweetness, bit of lemon citrus. Or was that the girl’s perfume?
