17:30 Only opens at 17:00 but already fairly busy. The barmaid was very stony faced, we scuttled to our seats like chastened schoolboys.

Had barely been open an hour and was already full with eager drinkers.

Moorhouse's - Black Moss4.90ExcellentActual name is Black Moss, see their website for the full story. First Stout to have been brewed and from the new brewing plant. Black and deeply malty with a dry roasted coffee and dark chooclate character. Full bodied with a dry roast finish. My score 17/20.

Small single roomed bar which is only open in the evenings with frequent music gigs. Real ale is a strong seller here with 5-6 on the bar often including local brews. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2014.
