Stayed here overnight before a business meeting at Stansted airport. Very good basic village boozer. Friendly, good, plentiful breakfast. Good value B&B but don't expect too many luxuries. However, clean and I had a really good nights sleep. I sat in the bar with some pints of Adnams and read my book. Nice enough
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70GoodIt's been a fair time since I've enjoyed it so much. True the Kew Brew was off and the AK doesn't have enormous flavour, so when you're stuck with one you have to focus. And this was genuinely good. Yeasty, but not unpleasant and with a good malt hop balance. Only had 2 over nearly 2 hours, but good stuff
McMullen (sometimes latterly brand badged as Rivertown or Whole Hop) - AK Original Mild3.70AcceptableDeep brown. Easy drinking supping bitter. Yeah some hop, some malt, but really just a bit bland. Good condition though

One room pub with the bar running along the rear wall. Nice real fire. Three handpumps normally serving a McMullens beer (is an ex-McMullen's pub). Good local village drinkers pub that does B&B

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
