30 Sep 2015 (Stephen Harris)
7pm for the first stop on a local CAMRA Pub Crawl. Just seven members gather and we stand out on the pavement for a slightly quieter life away from the rush hour crowds within. A house beer from Stod Fold Brewery is also available.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Prop Hop4.00AcceptableA disappointing, standard Bitter with a very soft mouthfeel. Not enhanced by the use of sparkler and swan-neck dispense.
Adnams - Lighthouse3.40Not Tried

Mid Saturday morning: a few breakfasters and drinkers. This pub now belongs to Kent's own Hush Heath Vineyards as part of their Cunning Plan chain.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Rooster's - Blind Jack3.70ExcellentMid brown, creamy lasting head.Thick assertive hops. Good flavour for the abv.

Still busy with commuters at 8pm. My pint was over-priced at £4:20.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sambrook's - Wandle3.80AcceptableInexplicably served with a thick, creamy head. This dumbed a good beer down to near blandness.
West Berkshire - Good Old (or Ordinary) Boy4.00Not Tried

An un-planned visit, entering when I saw the Dark Star pump-clip through the window. Dimly lit inside, crowded and boisterous with City-types as the rush hour peaked at 6:30pm.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40ExcellentStill a classic, golden, hoppy ale. This example quite mature, with a mellow, resinous character.
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not Tried
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Bombardier (was Bombardier Glorious English) (use Eagle entry now please)4.10Not Tried

The pub is found in City, Central London, EC2M 4RH.

A small, former Watney’s pub, very handily placed for Liverpool Street railway station and mainly attracting a commuter crowd on weekday evenings. The pub’s name recalls the ancient Bull Inn, a famous coaching inn which stood just around the corner in Bishopsgate until the 1860s.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 4 of them.
