18 Feb 2019 (Jack William)
Monday evening. I went to the Fat Cat by choice (as I thought it sounded the best Ipswich pub) and this by chance as I was walking past - I preferred this, seemed a more natural boozer with a very good choice of ales. Beware though - some pumps have two badges - the top one is in the tap room on gravity - the bottom one is the ale on the pump.

3 Piers - Mild3.60AcceptablePoured by mistake! This was on the pump when I asked go Black Adder - it was ok though, for a mild.

The pub is found in Ipswich, Suffolk, IP4 2LA.

On the edge of the town in St Helen's Street - the Dove Street Brew Shop is on the opposite street corner selling all aids for the beer brewer and wine maker. Sports 12 handpumps in the bar plus sells numerous beers on gravity from the stillage in the back so always a considerable range on at any one time. A street corner pub but with a large extension at the back which is often used for extensive beer festivals. Real Ale is drawn from handpumps and from gravity dispense in back room stillage. Real Ales are all sold in oversize measure glasses which is always a commendable attribute. Was CAMRA Suffolk County pub of the year for 2008 and regularly wins awards from the local CAMRA branch. Many may regard this as the most popular real ale venue in Ipswich.
