Proximity to the beach meant this little pub was pretty busy in the late afternoon, with a steady flow of customers in for a quick one.

The pub is found in Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 1AL.

This pub was established by the 1850s as the Spotted Dog, and spent a time in recent years as the Hop Poles. Owned by Greene King, it re-opened in March 2012 as the Cask (Pub & Kitchen, Brighton), the third in the small chain operated by Martin Hayes. A small, single bar inside, with a little yard at the back. The beer line-up and mix of cask, keg and bottle will be familiar to those who have visited the other outlets in Pimlico and Clerkenwell.

We have visited this pub once, seen 7 different beers and tried 2 of them.
