We planned to have an early evening meal here, but found the pub moderately busy and every vacant table with the detritus of Saturday lunch still piled high. Saying to the manageress that we would like to eat but could not find a clear table, she replied not “Leave it to me, I’ll get a table cleared “, but “We have been very busy you know”. So we had a quick pint in the garden and left for somewhere more hospitable. A shame, because this could be a very attractive pub.
