Mid afternoon quiet just a couple of others in this sadly modernised back street local. Friendly welcome from the barmaid alas just the one local ale on.

1825 hours visit. Already well buzzing with locals. Friendly bar staff. Try also the Solent Arms round the corner. Clearly off the tourist track. Whilst here several small groups arrived so the place was filling up nicely by 1900 hours.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goddards - Ale of Wight3.70ExcellentVery refreshing light bitter. Should have had a second instead of moving up to Fuggle-De-Dum
Goddards - Fuggle (or Fuggle Dee-Dum)4.80GoodMuch darker - too malty for my palate today (but still had a hoppiness)

The pub is found in Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 1JG.

A locals' house in Simeon Street located in a residential area of Ryde to the east (and slightly inland) of the Esplanade tourist area. More spacious than at first it seems upon entering. The Courage signage implies a past ownership history perhaps. Regular live music at weekends. Traditional games played here with great enthusiasm including a professional looking raised darts oche. 3 handpumps.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 6 different beers and tried 4 of them.
