Evening with arrivals from theatre kicking out time. No idea why pub chooses to have music blaring when people would presumably want to quietly chat through discussing the show they had just left.

I always used to think that this pub suffered from being in the shadow of the excellent Opera Tavern – but now that pub is lost to us it puts this place more in the spotlight. Very busy when I first arrived, but rapidly emptying as it approached kick-off time at the nearby theatres.

I liked this pub due to the fact that a group from the Royal Opera House orchestra were in here sinking several pints before their performance and checking the results of the 2000 Guineas horse race. Two beers on, and the Adnams bitter was quite tasty.

The pub is found in Covent Garden, Central London, WC2B 5JS.
Opposite the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in Catherine Street. Side bar on ground floor with some seating and 2 handpumps, but an overflow for the theatre crowd is upstairs. Lots of pale wood in the interior and interesting theatre posters on the walls. Converted to a managed house.
