The pub is found in City, Central London, EC4M 7DE.
This is one pub that does actually deserve the title “Ye Olde” as, contrary to its Victorian appearance, it has been here in one form or another since at least 1731, when it was called the London Coffee House and stood alongside the old Lud Gate into the City of London. In the 1980s and 1990s it was a Scottish & Newcastle house, selling Wm. Younger’s beers – and stained glass windows at the front hark back to this era. Today it is badged as a “Taylor Walker” pub, although never seems to have been associated with the historic brewery of that name. There is a smallish ground floor bar, with a considerably larger basement bar and a near subterranean courtyard garden.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 8 different beers and tried 2 of them.
