Okell's - Autumn Dawn | 4.20 | This was in poor condition, over-chilled and served with a huge creamy head – none of which helped me take a view on what it actually tasted like. I’m probably being a bit generous in calling this particular example ‘acceptable’. | |

The pub is found in Bethnal Green, Greater London, E2 0AN.
This pub was present by 1851, at which time it brewed its own beer, later becoming tied to the Whitbread Brewery. For many years it was an unremarkable, street corner pub with a declining customer base. This all changed in 2009 when it passed to new management. It is a good example of how stripped-back decor, subdued lighting, laid-back music and a more sophisticated drinks range (with prices to match) can turn an empty and overlooked pub almost overnight into a popular and busy venue. There is a single candle-lit room, which includes a more secluded area to the rear. Very handy for Bethnal Green tube station. The current management have added the word ‘Inn’ back in to the pub name. This pub closed down in mid-2013, re-opening in early 2015 but without any real ale and now named Sun Tavern.
We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 4 different beers and tried 1 of them.
