Good to see this iconic pub still surviving with a fair few folk in scattered amongst its many vaults and chambers. Start of a memory lane pub crawl that up to a dozen of us used to for many years from the mid 90's to late noughties. Sadly many of us are no longer with us including the pubs!

Saturday lunchtime with horse racing on the television. The majority of the other customers appeared to be drinking Crystal Lager.

17:00 visit. A Holts house and another National Inventory type. I was put onto this gem earlier in my travels today. A short walk from the previously visited Bird In Hand, further along the Liverpool Road, soon finds this lovely old 1903 built pub. I do like these untouched interiors. Very quiet on my visit but very pleasant with some locals in playing cards and watching the horseracing on the box. I can just imagine how these pubs were in the good old days, smoke filled and packed out every session! Lovely. Previously a gbg entry, 20 times in;1984/5/91/3-2004/6-9/11

In top condition. Went down well with a very nice Ham salad barm, freshly made by the landlords missus, that cost only £1.20. Well worth a visit.
The pub is found in Patricroft, Greater Manchester, M30 7HD.
A Holt's house in the Peel Green neighbourhood in Liverpool Road, Grade II listed and on CAMRA's National Inventory for fine, circa 1903, unspoilt interior. Two rooms lead off the main bar, with a serving hatch in the tiled corridor, connecting two other rooms, with one used for games.
We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
