Tried for the second time to get a seat in Olivers Belgian Beer cafe but it was wedged. Returned here instead.

19:45 Off the train, checked into the hotel, and straight here for a meal and the house beers. Reasonably quiet.

It must be fifteen years since I was last in here – all instantly recognisable though. The pub was busy, early afternoon on a Friday, mostly with coffee drinkers and late-lunch takers. We were happy enough though sat on barstools and sampling the home-brew (all on keg dispense).

The pub is found in Utrecht, Netherlands, 3511 AE.
Brew-pub established in 1990 in a former nobleman’s house right in the city centre and with a canal-side setting. The brewery is hidden away in the cellar. At ground floor level is a very large, high-ceilinged room with impressive fireplaces – quite an imposing setting for a pub. Elsewhere in the building is a theatre and a restaurant.
We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 5 different beers and tried them all.
