Just a few others in upon my lunchtime arrival but grew much busier by the time I left an hour or so later. Good to see is still the same as my last visit 11 years ago.

Lunchtime visit and busy with diners. It was difficult to see what beers were available as customers were standing in front of the pumps making complicated food orders. There was no beer list available apart from a television screen that could not be seen from the bar, but had beers listed on two pages of about six constantly changing screens.
I do not like the idea of having reserved tables in what should be a drinking area in the bar.

16:00 Busy with an office party who had had a Phoenix beer renamed for the session. Music was intrusive. Had one beer and left.

ChrisE suggested visiting here after it's recent CAMRA accolade and I wasn't disappointed. Busy late afternoon with shoppers and office staff enjoying a pre festive tipple.
The pub is found in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, OL12 0NU.
Situated in the Toad Lane conservation area, and adjacent to the world's first Co-operative store, the Baum is a comfortable pub with a good selection of ales, and a popular food offering.
As at November 2012 it had reached the final 4 pubs in the CAMRA National Pub of the Year 2012 competition. In February 2013 it was announced as having achieved the ultimate accolade as 2012 CAMRA National Pub of the Year. Discount on real ales for card carrying CAMRA members but not on Fridays and Saturdays.
We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 25 different beers and tried 13 of them.
