Mid-evening visit and there is a big crowd in. I’m not quite the oldest person here, but it is predominately a young crowd. I think it is a shame that such an pioneering and adventurous brewery shows less confidence in its cellaring, condition and dispense – a couple of cask conditioned beers here would complement the other offerings.
BeerABVScoreNotes
BrewDog - Abstrakt: 1211.70ExceptionalOn keg dispense. A beer of this strength can survive the kegging process well. Served by the third pint, in a brandy glass, it is easily warmed and de-gassed in the hand. It is a fabulous beer with complex flavours. Black in colour, it has a subtle spiciness that may come from Belgian yeast. There are also fruity flavours. But the winner is the strong glow that comes from aging in Invergordon Whisky casks.
BrewDog - Dead Pony Club (keg)3.80AcceptableHidden in here is a good quality, US-style pale ale, with some good hop tastes. But it suffers badly from the kegging process and the flavours are hidden behind the fizz.
