Busy lunchtime session – I arrived after a pleasant morning’s walk around Richmond Park and Putney Heath. The roast dinners looked and smelt divine, but I was satisfied with a pint and a Scotch egg.

An historic pub, situated at the edge of Putney Heath and with its own bus terminus outside. The pub is said to date from the early eighteenth century, and it retains an old-fashioned appearance, with a succession of small rooms. There is a large garden to the rear and the pub is dog and rambler-friendly. Expected to re-open April 2020 after significant refurbishment.
