An afternoon with full double decker on a pre-booked after funeral wake. Almost everyone at least initially clustered around the one Landlord handpump. Filling hot buffet later with ample supplies for seconds (and even thirds) for those of that hungry disposition.

Late afternoon and already busy with a Christmas dinner function finishing up so around 50 of us crammed in the front bar until the main bar became available. Top marks to the Guv for providing extra staff and keeping the beer flowing hence we gave Chris the best send off he could wish for, more so with our mode of transport arriving on a vintage Green Line RMC Routemaster (486 CLT). ChrisE's legacy will be digitally immortalised forever thanks to the visits he recorded on this website.

Late afternoon to early evening and fairly busy with a few family groups and dungarees for an after work pint. My first and long overdue visit to this pub.

The pub was absolutely packed for a quiz night, raffle and auction in aid of charities that have supported a local girl who has had to go to America for an operation that can not be done in this country. A considerable amount of money was raised for this very good cause.

Two bar pub in Church Road built in 1932, with some very nice wood panelling, the pub has a car park and an outside drinking area. Regular weekday daytime bus services pass the front door. 3 handpumps serving national cask ales.
We have visited this pub 7 times, seen 4 different beers and tried them all.
