I was through the door pretty soon after noon opening. You would not even need a full set of digits on one hand to count the number of other customers who arrived in the first hour. Friendly staff and pleasant brewing smells. Much discussion of curtains – yet another pub conversation topic on which I have little to contribute.

Evening. Club feel and very friendly bar staff and customers. Altogether a cracking venue and beers. Left just before the complimentary beef and Yorkshire puddings were passed around.

The pub is found in Mexborough, South Yorkshire, S64 9HU.
Located just out of the town centre in Arcadia Hall, Cliff Street. Formerly a Club which closed in April 2010 it re-opened in February 2011 as a pub with very large floor area and with its own brewery attached. Feels 60s club in a pub environment. 6 handpumps selling mainly Imperial Brewery beers and a cider but also a range of guest ales as evident from the number of pumpclips on the ceiling. Closed on Tuesdays. Always some club or other sports activity taking place. Live music venue at times. Re-named to exclude the Club reference some time after it became a pub.
