Being in need of sustenance, having travelled up from Kent, we dropped in for a bite to eat and had a nice filling meal. The service was welcoming and, although not too many were in, there was a nice warming log fire at one end of the bar area.

13:00 lunch stop. The pub was in the process of changing its name back to the Three Horseshoes from a renaming in 1976 to John H Stracey (the welterweight boxer). When we went in the old name was still on the gable end so I planned to take a photograph after lunch. When I came out of the pub it had gone.
