12:15 Second stop. Better range of beer than on my last visit.
| Wibblers - Head Brewer's Premium Edition #12 Dengie Sour | 5.70 | | Described as Lambic fruity sour. Lots of sourness and malt richness. Not really a Lambic. |

12:15 Came here as it is the current Essex CAMRA Pub of the Year. Very busy both in and in the extensive courtyard garden. Quite surprising for a Tuesday lunchtime. Really liked the pub but was disappointed by the beers on offer.
| Harwich Town - Bay Bitter | 3.60 | | |

Early evening visit and a good crowd in. This pub is recently named as Colchester CAMRA Pub of the Year.
| Colchester - Pontisbright | 4.20 | | A dark red-brown beer with US hop flavours on a solid malt background. |
| Hellhound - Twisted Sister | 3.50 | | Golden. Described as a ‘Champagne Beer’. Bitter, a bit yeasty, citrusy. |
| Farmer's Ales (Maldon Brewing) - Puck's Folly | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Rudgate - York Chocolate Stout | 5.00 | Not Tried | |
| Bishop Nick - Dark Mild | 3.70 | Not Tried | |

I have walked past this pub dozens of times over the years without going in, but today it proved a nice place to re-group with my friends after a very disappointing football match at Colchester United.
| Harwich Town - Bay Blonde | 3.60 | | Golden and very bitter. |
| Bishop Nick - SPA | 4.80 | | So far as I know, Bishop Nick beers continue to be brewed at Felstar Brewery. This was a pleasant, brown, best bitter with toffee undertones. |
| Crouch Vale - Black | 6.00 | | I didn’t much care for this. Black in colour, it has a strong alcohol taste but is oddly lacking in body. It is possible that this sample was suffering from being close to barrel-end. |
| Farmer's Ales (Maldon Brewing) - Puck's Folly | 4.20 | Not Tried | |
| Great Heck - Yakima IPA | 7.40 | Not Tried | |
