Late afternoon and this month's venue for our Friday Evening Group, we sat outside soaking up the sunshine enjoying the riverside views soon to be joined by more of our group. Fairly busy as expected with the fine weather to which the staff coped admirably with clearing tables, bar service and sweeping up (not our group's) dropped glasses!

The warmest day of the year so far by miles and the riverside is swarming with people making the most of things whilst it lasts. This pub is nearly overwhelmed – I would have stayed for a second pint, but the queue for the bar stretches out of the door and across the garden.

A riverside pub in Cock Marsh on a busy and popular stretch of the Thames. The pub is unusual in that it has no vehicle access – although it is in fact just a short walk from Bourne End railway station, via the riverside path and a footbridge. The pub has a large front garden, a small public bar at the front and a dining area to the rear. Restricted winter opening hours.
