The pub is found in Dalston, Greater London, E8 1NH.
This pub was present by 1839 and in the mid-nineteenth century it was known for its tea gardens. It is a rather grittier, urban setting today, with the pub standing close to the bustling Ridley Road Market. Historically it was tied to the City of London Brewery, passing to Charrington’s when that brewery closed. Since 2012 it has featured real ales sourced primarily from local brewers in Hackney and nearby. There is a low-ceilinged, single room, with a few patio tables outside at the front.
We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
