Beer and lunch stop to kick off today's proceedings. Usual JDW atmosphere but it served its purpose. My all day brunch arrived piping hot which made a pleasant change from the norm! Non national blands not listed.

This pub in Castle Street recalls the famous poet born in Rugby. At the end of Regent Street there is a bronze statue of Rupert Brooke, a poet of the First World War. Brooke was born at the corner of Hillmorton Road and Church Walk, in 1887, and attended Rugby School. He wrote some of his best-known poetry in the town.
