About 3.20pm and a lively pub with racing on the television and pool being played in one of the bars. I enquired about the possibility of purchasing one of the sausages advertised on a chalk board, but the kitchen shut at 3pm. Beer list was as already entered by others among our group.

A smallish wedge shaped pub at the railway station end of Townfield Street in a residential area. Wedged between Townfield Street and a narrow alleyway the pub is triangular at one end. Two street doors lead to an opened up pub (ostensibly public and saloon bars) with 2 bar counters each with 3 handpumps. Lunchtime menu. Separate function room. Small secluded courtyard garden at rear. Thoroughly refurbished in 2018
