Afternoon visit, I had not been to this cavernous pub before. Staff were welcoming and friendly but informed me that although there were six pumps with six different clips on them, only three had any beer in them so I did not have much choice. I only stopped for a half.

My first ever visit to this pub which used to have the reputation of being a bit of a roughhouse. Has now gone the other way and to my taste is over-modernised inside.

14:30 My 2000th pub visit recorded on this site. Tried for food only pizzas. Interesting barman, interested in beer. Bit of a barn of a pub but the remnants of a good bar back.

Evening. Friendly welcome from behind the bar from a barman who makes a good ambassador for the pub.

Located in one corner of Parliament Square this pub has a large open plan layout. Has had past names including Pye, Magpie, Three Blackbirds, Blackbirds and Fledgling & Firkin. Handpumps have been supplied by Brains and Adnams so their beers are often on sale. Substantial price discount on real ale for card carrying CAMRA members. 3 handpumps on the bar counter. Refurbished in 2023.
