Late Sunday evening visit. Not exactly empty, but spared the mad central Newcastle crowds of Friday or Saturday evenings.
Marble - Marble and Now Then. Collaboration 3.70ExcellentPale gold and a little hazy. Smooth. Very hoppy – so much hoppy stuff going on here that I would really like to know the ingredients.
Tavernale - Golden Hop3.60GoodGolden and cloudy. Very bitter. Dry-hopped.

Late evening visit. The pub is busy, but, unlike most of its neighbours, it does not have a door policy or a queue to get in on a Saturday night. Robert and I sit at the bar talking beer, or perhaps it was the beer that was talking. One or the other.
Out There - Celestial Love5.10GoodA red ale.
Tavernale - Bishop's Daughter4.10GoodDescribed as a Porter, but we both think it tastes like an Oatmeal Stout!

An excellent, revamped pub in the busy Quay district. As well as a couple of good new beers, I also enjoyed my Haddock & Chips lunch.
Tavernale - Sneaky Peak4.10ExcellentAn amber-coloured pint, brewed on-site and served with a creamy head. Well-hopped with lush New Zealand hops.
Stod Fold - Blonde4.10GoodTasty, golden pint from a new, Halifax-based brewery.
