Late afternoon and fairly busy with mainly drinkers. We sat in the right hand bar where the rest of our Friday Evening Group had already occupied. The left side of the pub was taken over by a mothers and toddlers crowd so I was half expecting baby milk on handpump.

Badged as 'Old Barge' house beer however the bar staff were unsure of its nomenclature until one of our group confirmed it as EPA by other means.

11:40 Once again first stop on a Hertford crawl. I walked here from Hertford East station along the Navigation tow-path. Very pleasant. The pub itself was empty apart from us. As we were leaving the mum and buggy brigade were entering. Expensive pub the pint was £3.95.

The pub is found in Hertford, Hertfordshire, SG14 1QD.
Situated on an island in the centre of town the pub is adjacent to the Lea Navigation. One large room with lots of small areas. Comfortable and welcoming. Events held throughout the year including beer festivals. There are eight handpumps on the bar counter.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 18 different beers and tried 6 of them.
