The Old Green Tree (Free House)

What a great little pub this is, 3 small bars all wood panneled apparently from the timber from the 'old green tree' that use to be in the courtyard that is now the back bar. No distraction here, just ale, real cider, a German lager and great conversation. Food is available and all looked very good particularly the roasted pheastent.

Evening. Always think of this as the most genteel of Bath's pubs.

Fairly quiet pre-lunchtime on a Saturday with quiet conversation by the regulars.
Cottage - Harrier | 4.80 | | Ruby/brown beer with a strong chocolate malt character. Little hop character and a bitter dark chocolate finish. My score 15/20. |

Excellent pub three small rooms. The wood panel walls and floors and low ceilings give this place character. Tony and I had lunch here and watched the landlord wash his glasses wearing a single black rubber glove.
Hop Back - Entire Stout | 4.50 | | Black with a dying head. Sharp & sweet stout with a well constructed burnt malt finish. |
