An all-too-brief, lunchtime visit. A small beer festival was in progress, the home-brewed beers supplemented by around a dozen more on a stillage in the main bar area.

This pub was established in the mid-nineteenth century in Sherburn Terrace, originally as the Target Inn. It is fairly small, but features a variety of spaces around the central bar counter. Pavement tables at front. It is well-known as a live music venue and is home to the Consett Ale Works Brewery.
