This was my favourite Waltham Abbey pub when I used to spend time here back in the 1990s. Not been in for a while, but it was instantly comfortable and welcoming on a Sunday afternoon. The AK was just £2:35 a pint, a 50p a pint reduction for the weekend.

The pub is found in Waltham Abbey, Essex, EN9 1QZ.

A former beer house which was acquired by McMullens Brewery in 1905 and is now the only surviving old building in Romeland. Despite being just a few minutes’ walk from the Abbey, it is tucked away just out of sight and so attracts a mainly local clientele.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
