The pub is found in Checkendon, Berkshire, RG8 0TE.
A much overused expression is gem. This pub however, does deserve the epithet. Totally unspoilt rural freehouse. Three rooms, the bar where all beer is fetched from the cellar and the landlady is summoned by a bell, a lounge area the other side of a massive chimney breast and another lounge that really does look like someone's front room. The toilets are outside with the stand up Gents at one end of the pub and the sit down at the other.
We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
