A Greene King Local Heroes pub, I noticed that there were some brewing vessels in the bar area but they did not appear to be in use, and although this is the home of the White Park Brewery I did not notice any of their beers on sale here. Not particularly welcoming so I finished my pint and moved on.

13:45 Third stop and lunch. The pub is badged as Greene King but an A Board outside states that it is now operated by White Park Brewery. The pub was on CAMRA's Heritage database but yesterday's visit has led to demotion. The gastro fiends have been at work. The pub was a mix of 1930s and 1970s work but some of the fielded panelling has been painted gastro grey, the wooden bar counter has been painted purple and the bar back has been replaced. The lovely brass Smoke Room door plate survives.

Well worth a visit - good selection of ales. Wasn't busy, but barman friendly.
