12:00 The six of us were the first in as it opened. The pub soon got busy. Made very welcome. An obvious winner of a pub of the year award. My gripes, the lack of beers under 4% and the intrusive television.

The pub is found in Henlow, Bedfordshire, SG16 6AA.

Village local with an impressive range of beers. Front door leads to a small middle bar. Front bar is in a 1930s extension and has an interesting selection of bric-a-brac. At the rear is a larger room. Up to 10 beers on handpump and 2 on gravity. Unusually two handpumps are on a separate stand behind the bar. The pub has had the same Landlord for 25 years. There is a dedicated local branch of CAMRA alcove complete with a book for beer suggestions. The pub was the Bedfordshire CAMRA Pub of the Year for 2014.
