Mid afternoon and a fairly busy including three chaps who got off our train earlier were also in The Falcon on a similar crawl to us.

11:15 First stop on our monthly old railwaymen's pub crawl. We settled ourselves in the sofa area opposite the bar and stayed for three pints. The bar and associated seating areas were very busy by the time we left. I have been using this bar for many years and I find it to be consistently good both for beer choice and quality.

I liked this place a lot. Very comfortable bar area, good beer, well-trained staff.

18:00 All six of us got in a single taxi from the King of the Belgians to here. No idea what it did to the suspension. Hotel busy on the terrace we had the bar to ourselves.

Plush boutique hotel in the centre of town. Comfortable bar area with a mix of sofas and sheepskin covered chairs. Unusually the gents' toilets are directly behind the bar. Has a wine shop that operates from 09:00 - 22:00.
