It’s a hot old evening and whilst the garden is packed, there is not a single customer drinking inside the pub itself.

Early evening visit. Quite busy, with almost everybody out in the garden on a muggy day.

Amber-coloured. Lots of Goldings hop character. Fell flat very quickly in the glass and just not very exciting really. |

The pub is found in Southwark, Central London, SE1 8DP.
Former Courage pub tucked away in Colombo Street, this pub was established in 1787 and rebuilt in its present form in 1887. It is a traditional-style pub, with two wood-panelled bars, front and back on slightly different levels. Its best known feature though is the large rear garden, sheltered from much in the way of passing traffic. 4 handpumps.
