Evening. Intrigued to see what the PoundPub concept was all about. Friendly enough and a bit of life came from several truck drivers enjoying their evening stopover.

The pub is found in Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 1AZ.
Formerly the Mayze pub in Castle Gate, next door to The Castle pub this was converted to the PoundPub brand in June 2014. It is an old 2 storey red brick mid-terrace building. Lots of levels inside and a rear paved garden. The recipe here is to sell selected bottled and keg beers plus soft drinks at knock down prices with many beers at £1 a half, £1.50 a pint. A single handpump on the bar counter sells a "value" ale at £1.50pp (at June 2014).
