The pub is found in Islington, Central London, N1 9PZ.
This pub in Penton Street is the former Salmon & Compasses, which latterly became Hundred Crows Rising (more restaurant than pub) and which has been acquired by the Laine Pub Co in 2013 and once again re-named. The exterior retains some fine tiling from the pub’s days as a Courage house. Stripped back to bare brick inside, and with a open kitchen occupying some of the space behind the bar counter. A massive illuminated clock on the back wall. 4 handpumps subsequently removed and replaced by a wall of taps. Currently closed in 2022 but planned to re-open with new name Hicce Hart. Re-opened November 2022 with new name but no real ale. Closed then reopened 23rd April 2024 - The Chapel Market Tavern gastropub by Sybaritic Holdings.
We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 9 different beers and tried 5 of them.
