11:00 Having nearly two hours in Retford before catching a train to Grimsby I came here for a drink as it is shown as opening at 11:00 on a Saturday. Firmly closed. I came back at 11:45. Still closed but a Hoover was in operation. Beer range as glimpsed through a window looked interesting.

Retford's first Micropub which opened on 23rd October 2014 in former fancy dress shop premises. Was run initially jointly by one of Newark's Just Beer Micropub Tapsters and a former Newark CAMRA Branch Chairman. 8 handpumps with high level swans' necks outlets. Real ale and cider sold and can be seen in the cellar behind the bar through a viewing window. Rans a BeerHeadZ chain loyalty card scheme. Now in new hands and with a new name. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2022 & 2023.
