13:15 Lunch stop. Busy unlike the other Crown. Perhaps we are not the only price concious diners. We sat in the settle snug.

13:30 Busy with diners so we sat opposite the bar. The display of a large number of rosettes prompted me to ask the barmaid if a farmer owned the pub. Turned out her sister runs the pub and farms pigs, sheep and goats. The meat of which is used in the pub. As the diners gradually left we managed to sit in the settle snug and having got in conversation with a family from London Mr Slaughter sold them a Heritage pubs book.

The pub is found in Snape, Suffolk, IP17 1SL.

Large building at least 400 years old. The centrepiece is a superb double settle snug around the fireplace. The pub suffered in the December 2013 storm surge resulting in the bar being damaged. The replacement has been moved through 90 degrees and the resultant space has been filled with a curved built in bench which makes a fine drinking area. The main room forms an L shape, off this is a further room with a good herringbone brick floor. The former bar back is still in situ, part of which is reclaimed linen-fold wooden panels from the Dorchester hotel.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 5 different beers and tried 1 of them.
