Afternoon visit, I decided to eat and after studying the menu I opted for the afternoon deal of fish and chips that included a drink. I ordered it only to be told that they had run out of fish. I just had the drink. I have not listed all the beers that were available but most were from the normal Wetherspoon offering.

I wondered about the name of this pub, and a later internet search told me that is named after an Elizabethan actor called Will Kemp. I needed to eat and a quick check of the menu told me that if I waited ten minutes the price of fish and chips would be reduced and also include a pint, so I waited for a full eleven minutes and ordered my food.

The pub is found in Ilford, Greater London, IG1 4LZ.

Wetherspoon pub situated close to Ilford railway station. The name of this pub recalls the famous Elizabethan actor, Will Kemp, who danced his way from Norwich to London in 1600. Kemp successfully completed the 80-mile route in nine days. He stopped in Ilford for refreshment, where the measure of ale was known as a 'spoon' (about two pints). A 'great spoon' was even more refreshing!

We have visited this pub twice, seen 6 different beers and tried 3 of them.
