My third visit here and I like the place, something which I can not say about most Irish pubs outside of Ireland. This one boasts Cask Marque accreditation and an entry in the 2019 Good Beer Guide. It does not look like the sort of place that would sell good ale but it does. I sat at the rear near a plug socket and gave my 'phone a quick charge and overheard the lady behind the bar doing her beer order, basically a huge amount of Guinness and a smaller amount of cask which I suppose is to be expected in here. A good boozer.

Early Friday afternoon and fairly quiet.

I was about to walk past this pub, but I peered through the window and spotted two handpumps so I ventured inside. I chatted with a couple of Irishmen who were telling Dave Allen jokes.
