14:00 Made immediately welcome by other drinkers followed by a chat about Norfolk and Suffolk pubs. I had not been here for years and had forgotten how many 1930s period features have survived. Yet another upright piano. Must be a Bungay tradition. We parked in the pub car park and I noted pins, firkins, kilderkins and barrels in the collection of empty casks. A mix I don't remember seeing before.

Corner pub in the pleasant town of Bungay. 3 room pub with single wooden bar serves 3 handpumps in one room and 2 in another. The Green Dragon brewery is in the buildings in the rear car park. There is a side garden too. Rather a good small town centre pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Green Dragon - Bridge Street Bitter4.50ExcellentChestnut, lasting beige head. Very choccy malt, some dark/red fruit. Again great condition in mouth. Some good juicyness. Excellent balancing hop. Biting hop on finish. Strawberry field aroma, bit of hay. Full and juicy in mouth, good carbonation. Good hops on end balances the malts well. Cracking ESB.
Green Dragon - Chaucer Ale3.80ExcellentThe badge said 4.0%, but normally 3.6%. Excellent best bitter, bit toasty, good dry, hoppy finish. Excellent balance. Lovely toasty malt aroma. Superb best bitter. Toastiness is superb. Balanced, no flavour/texture is out of place. Terrific.
Green Dragon - Gold4.40AcceptableGravity. Gold, lasting beige head. Slightly yeasty blond ale, some interesting lager malt flavour, maybe lager hops on end too. Bit like an ale yeast iwth lager malt and lager hops, Hallertau, Styrians or such like. Good attempt, good condition in mouth, lemon zest finish. Just not my thing. Good biting hop. A cask conditoned lager?

This pub brews its own beer as it has a brewery out back. The pub is sectioned into 3 large rooms and has a small garden to the side.
