Mid afternoon not too busy for this edge of village pub with stunning views across the moors.

Lunch stop on a car journey to Scotland and I really enjoyed my lamb chops and butter beans. Unfortunately I have lost my notes of the other beers that were available; a shame as it was a really good selection from Northumberland and Tyneside breweries.

The pub is found in Hexham, Northumberland, NE46 4LN.

A country pub, situated in the outlying hamlet of Anick, to the north of the A69. The cottage-style pub has a front garden, a bar area with a real fire, a dining area and a conservatory. The food has a very good reputation and local breweries are supported. Although fundamentally rural, the outlook includes splendid views of the Egger chipboard factory.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 5 different beers and tried 2 of them.
