Evening. Not what I expected from the AD1636 sign outside. Nothing to praise except the barmen were good sports when asked when Shakespeare lived and what reigns he lived under. Now they and I know, which we did not before the debate.

The pub is found in Bristol, Avon, BS1 6DR.

On Victoria Street in the Redcliffe district this has been an inn since 1636 as its signage extols. Re-opened in July 2014 after a major refurbishment which has split opinion. Comfortable, low ceilinged with all modern decor and furnishings but with loss of any signs of its heritage. 4 handpumps.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
