This marked my fifth venue of the tour and it was small and packed. Many in the back area hooked on the sport. Eased my way to the bar and was served quickly for this early evening visit. Its internal walls are adorned with old pictures and photographs from yesteryear. It looked more like a micropub and had that packed feel about it. Said to be dating back to the 17th century, it has an interior little changed since the war and is of very special national historic interest with two stars awarded by CAMRA. No children inside as pushchairs and the like would certainly not fit round it, even if folded, but dogs are welcome. Situated near Windsor Great Park and the Long Walk and from where you can survey the castle in the distance. Three cask ales on, on my visit and our party had also dwindled to that number as one was by this time tired out.

Rebellion - IPA (was 3.7%)3.40GoodMy second this day from the Marlow Brewery and this time the session IPA bitter which came with very good head and lacing and was holding throughout. A very malty and lightly fruity first hit. A dry and malty mouthfeel and lingering. Described as a copper coloured, session bitter with Pale, Crystal and Chocolate malts and hopped with Fuggle, Goldings and Bobek. Very moreish and in fine form.
