Late afternoon and teeming with folk everywhere, many inside as well as out with the marquee proving popular given the odd shower or 2 lurking.. Many bowls of leftover roast potatoes with a gravy dip spread out over the bar were most welcome while waiting to be served!

We had been to a funeral of a friend who was a beer and bus enthusiast and travelled from the crematorium to the pub (which was one of his favourites) in a Routemaster bus which was in its original form with tungsten lights and the correct engine noises, it struggled up a few hills with a full load of adult passengers. The pub was very welcoming and a cask or two was emptied.

15:30 The venue for the wake of a friend of mine, David Hunter. He was a beer, football and transport enthusiast. Accordingly we made the journey from the crematorium in a London Transport RM double decker. As most of us shared his love of beer the bus did very well with the unexpected weight. We took over the pub and I think the handpumps did a week's work in two hours.

Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30GoodNew cask as we had finished the old one in no time at all. Tasty but a bit hazy.
